Understanding power

What actually makes a character strong, and why. With the game’s formula opened up and an example checked against the engine.

The formula, opened up

This is the part the game does not explain, and it is the part that changes how you play. There are two multiplications, not one:

stat = base × [ rarity × (1 + 4% per level) ] × [ 1 + stars + escort + synergy + runes ]

The first bracket is the character himself: who he is and how far you have raised him. The second is everything you hung on him.

The two brackets multiply each other. But inside the second one, the pieces merely add up.

1.What goes in each bracket

Every value comes from the game’s own formulas:

  • First bracket — rarity (1 · 1.06 · 1.13 · 1.22 · 1.36 · 1.55, from Common to Mythic) and level (4% per level; from 1 to 100 the factor becomes 4.96).
  • Second bracket — stars (0, 8, 18, 30, 45, 65%), escort (up to +200% when full), anime synergy (0, 6, 14, 24, 36%) and the runes’ percentage.

2.Why that split matters

Level and escort sit in different brackets, so they multiply each other: doubling one makes the other pay double as well. Investing in both is worth more than the sum of the parts.

Stars, escort and synergy sit in the same bracket, so they compete: each new bonus joins a sum the others have already fattened, and returns proportionally less.

3.The example, with engine numbers

A character with 20 base health, rarity 5 (Legendary). Every value below was computed by the engine validated against the game:

  • Raw — level 1, nothing equipped: 27 health.
  • Taking level alone to 100: 135. Five times more, and the second bracket was not even touched.
  • Adding a full escort: 405. Level multiplied the escort, and the escort multiplied the level.
  • Adding 5 stars: 493. The stars returned +88, far less than the escort’s +270 — because they joined the same sum.
  • Adding +36% synergy: 541. A gain of 9.7%.

The same bonus, two outcomes

That same +36% synergy, applied to the raw character, takes health from 27 to 37 — a gain of 37%.

On the finished character, the same +36% returns 9.7%. The bonus is identical; what changed is the size of the sum it fell into.

Which is why the same advice does not serve everyone. Someone starting out feels every investment. Someone with a maxed character has to look at level and rarity, which multiply from outside, rather than at one more percentage.

4.Skill level has a ceiling

A skill’s level never goes past the character’s rarity. A rarity 3 character locks the skill at level 3, no matter how much material you throw at it.

This appears nowhere on screen, and it is wasted material whenever it is forgotten.

Displayed power is not real strength

The number the game shows is health + 3 × power. It is a simple sum that treats health and damage as interchangeable, and they are not: a team of pure health kills nobody, and a team of pure damage dies on the first exchange.

Use displayed power to compare the same character before and after an investment — there it works. Do not use it to compare two different teams; that is what the simulation is for.
